Hi, I'm Nina Rogers, a PTUK-certified Play Therapist based in Cambridge.
I have been practising as a play Therapist since 2018, but my experience of working with children and families spans over 20 years. Before training as a play therapist, I worked as a family worker and within a health visiting team — roles that gave me a deep understanding of the challenges children and families can face, and the importance of early, compassionate support.
While Play therapy is confidential and I cannot comment on what happens in sessions, I value communication with parent/carers. I am dyslexic so you may find the occasional spelling error!
I have regular supervision, I am on the DBS update service and attend regular training.
My Approach
My practice is rooted in child-led, non-directive play therapy, drawing on trauma-informed and attachment-based principles. I use a rich variety of therapeutic tools including sand tray, sensory resources, arts and crafts, puppets, music and movement— all of which allow children to process and make sense of their experiences in a way that feels natural, creative and safe to them.
I am trained in level one Theraplay, Sand-Tray Story and Neuro-dramatic Play. I am starting a clay therapy course later in the year (2026).
